Hyster container handler makes onscreen appearance at Rotterdam World Port Day
A 52 tonne capacity Hyster H1150HD CH container handler featured on Dutch television when it was on display at the annual World Port Day in Rotterdam in September.
Abnormal and heavy haulage company, Van der Vlist, exhibited at the World Port Day event and requested a Hyster Big Truck for its display. Hyster provided an American version of the 52 tonne model, which is dedicated to lift containers and features a gantry mounted spreader.
The Hyster truck was used as the backdrop for some of the filming while the presenter stood on the container handler itself.
The annual World Port Day has been running for 35 years and traditionally takes place around the Maas River in Rotterdam and provides an insight into Europe’s largest harbour. A range of activities is offered to visitors including stunts on the water, ship tours, naval activities, demonstrations, music and fireworks. Visitors can also glimpse behind the scenes of the largest port in Europe and its industrial area.
